Marije is an experienced dutch yoga instructor who has done many amazing retreats in Portugal and Italy. Marije teaches regularly in Amsterdam and Den Bosch when not on retreat. She has led several Teacher Training for Movements Yoga in Amsterdam. Yoga has been in Marije’s life since 2008 and she has been teaching since 2013: Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Pilates.
Oftentimes we are tired after a holiday and need another to recover from a week of fun. Don’t worry, this one will definitely be fun but also nourishing for your body. Marije’s classes aim to get you out of the mind and into the body. You use your mind so much in daily life, now for this holiday, let your body and senses take over, to create more balance between body and mind. Marije’s classes are very much fascia-oriented. Our fascia (or connective tissue) is our sensory organ of the body. That means a lot of flow, repetition of movements, working on the elasticity of the body by moving in and out of a stretch, working in ways the body moves naturally: in circles, spirals, different angles, and we’ll even roll off the mat (instead of just working in straight lines, like traditional yoga). Besides flow, we will also do more restorative practices, like meditation, yin yoga, and myofascial release with massage balls. This retreat will let you come back home inside your body, feeling energized with beautiful memories.
