There are cities in Chapada that are 5 hours away by car from each other, so we recommend staying in cities that are closer to the attractions you want to visit.
How long to spend in Chapada Diamantina?
If you have more time available and appreciate having exclusive days to rest or want to explore the region more, stay between 9 and 12 days at Chapada Diamantina. Thus, you can take longer trails, such as Vale do Pati, in addition to visiting more cities, even reaching the southern part of Chapada, which is less visited by tourists and extremely rich in nature. There’s a 6-day expedition around the National Park for those who have less time and want to visit the unmissable attractions. For those who have more time to spend in Chapada Diamantina, we suggest visiting the stone city of Igatu, to get an idea of what the heyday of gold mining was like, and also reaching the city of Ibicoara to hike the trail to Fumacinha waterfalls, considered one of the most beautiful in the Park.

But if you don’t have that much time to spend in Chapada Diamantina, don’t be discouraged, with just 4 days you can go straight to Vale do Pati and have an unforgettable experience in Chapada. Or also take just one day tour and discover beautiful and special places. Everything will depend on your disposition and the organization of your itinerary.
